Doodle is a Swedish Vallhund that was rescued from the 2017 Yulin Dog Meat Festival in China. She remained in China at a safehouse until she could come to the U.S. to find a home. She was flown to our rescue on May 30th, 2018. Doodle is a loveable, comical, friendly girl that is 2 years old and 20 lbs She loves to run and run in the yard. She is happy and confident once she trusts you and bonds with you. She is housebroken and once she adjusts in your home she just wants to be around you. Adoption criteria and important info on adopting Doodle: At first Doodle may be shy and bark at you. Doodle needs a home where someone is home more. A home with 2 people working and coming home for lunch will not work. She needs companionship, therefore we are looking for retired couples, homemaker, couples that work different shifts. She can free roam without getting into anything, she is very good and well mannered in the house. Doodle loves car rides and she also walks well on a leash. Doodle needs a home without other dogs, as she doesn't want to share her toys, people, food etc. She gets along well with dogs otherwise. She is wonderful with people…you can take a toy away from her and remove and touch her food with no issues. We are looking for families with no young children under the age of 6. She is not used to children. We think she would be fine with them, but she needs a calm environment at first with little stimulation. Doodle needs a home with a fenced in yard. Doodle is a loveable girl and will make some family a great dog. Doodle is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. . Doodle will go for adoption with a 7 day trial to make sure it is a good fit for you and her, therefore we are also looking for a family that is within a 1- 1-1/2 hour drive of northwest Indiana. Since Doodle is very leary of strangers, it may take more than one meet and greet with you before she can go for adoption. Adoption fee is $200 show less
