Luke, now known as Zulu was one of our shepherd mix puppies who was adopted as a mobile support dog. He has learned a lot but unfortunately his adopter has had some unforeseen issues and is not able to keep him. He has been worked with and is very smart.... a few of the things he has learned or is learning:
Sit (working on down)
Walk on leash politely
Come (working on stay)
He will run next to you in a bike while being leashed.
He knows to stay with you in the house.
He kennels on command.
He will sit before we let him out of kennel.
He will sit (on command) before going in or out of a door. (This is so he learns to be polite instead of charging past you and
Knocking you down)
He has gone to several restaurants with us that have out door seating and he will lay down under the table nicely.
He rides in car very politely.
He loves to cuddle and play with his toys.
He is good with big and little dogs.
Favorite pastime is pulling on a rope swing.
He has started barking at other dogs in our outings. Not aggressively, he just wants to play with them.
We start all of our adoptions with a one week sleepover, so you know everything there is to know before finalizing the adoption.
Adoption Fees for dogs/puppies 6 months old or older: $150

Florida Urgent Rescue Inc
Our mission is to dramatically improve the lives of shelter and rescue animals, to assist in urgent rescue situations and to implement resources to help in the aid of these animals. We rescue from death row at high kill shelters and help them have happy lives in their furever homes.
Shelter Driving Directions
Please note: We are not a shelter. We do not have a kennel or facility that you can visit and see all the Animals. Each Animal is fostered in an individual home. So, you cannot come visit our animals until you have gone through the application and brief phone interview process and then we will schedule a meet and greet with the animal and their foster parents. Then the next step would be a 1 week sleepover, so before finalizing we can all make sure it's a perfect fit. We are all volunteers and do this in our spare time, we do not have set "hours" and we answer all calls and emails as quickly as we can. Thank you so much for your interest in our FUR Babies!
We rescue animals in Northeast Florida, including Putnam County, Bradford County, Clay County, St. Johns County and Duval County.
We require a written application, references and a home check prior to adoption. If you're interested in a foster-to-adopt, we are very flexible.
