We were setting up for our Big Fix down at Miller’s Pond Community Center when all of a sudden, a SNIPSA employee heard a soft “meow” coming from underneath the truck. She looked down and saw a kitten wander out from underneath and slowly walk out of the parking lot to the park. With every little step she took, she would look back to make sure she was still being followed by our employee. With one last look, the tiny tortie flopped over in the grass and relaxed under a shady tree while our SNIPSA employee sat right down next to her. Shortly after, she was able to scoop her up and bring her inside. From then on, she was dubbed “Millie” the cat we rescued from Miller’s Pond Park! After a couple weeks of being cared for and loved on here in the SNIPSA office, this sweet and cuddly tortie is ready to find a home of her own! Millie gets along well with cats and isn’t sure what to make of dogs but would love another friend once she gets used to them. She loves to be the center of attention so humans are her favorite. Millie loves to help out with the office work and you’ll find her typing on your laptop or snuggling on your office chair! Want to be part of Millie’s rescue story? SNIPSA is an organization formed by a group of veterinarians and caring individuals dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted animals in San Antonio and the surrounding area. SNIPSA does not have a standing shelter and depends on a core of volunteers to foster and rehabilitate animals in their homes. This provides us with the opportunity to learn first hand about the animal’s needs and behavior in order to facilitate an appropriate adoption. SNIPSA was incorporated in 2005 and has re-homed more than 3000 animals.
