Maya is a female, one-year-old Albino Doberman. This poor girl was kept outside for the first year of her life and was very underweight. Since then, she has come a long way in her foster home and is now a relaxed, super sweet, smart girl who is up-to-date on shots, spayed, and ready to be adopted!
Here is what Maya's foster mom says about her.
She is very resilient and has made a great deal of progress in the short time we have had her. Because of her sad history, Maya is learning everything a puppy usually learns in the first half of it's life. She is so incredible smart & learning very quickly. She is house trained using a doggy door - knows sit, down, drop it - leash manners have improved, but need work and she now is more comfortable riding in the car.
She is learning to trust people & loves children - I have 3 foster children ages 6, 8 & 11 - I also watch 2 of my grandchildren daily ages 18 months & 4 years. I have no concerns with the children & Maya spending time together.
She is loving & gentle with them, however, supervision is essential because she is a larger girl, still learning and working on those important & appropriate behaviors She is also has a lot of that wonderful puppy energy.
She does have a bit of separation anxiety - she loves being with people, sleeping with people & playing with people & becomes anxious when she can't find her people. When she feels it's rest time - she needs to be close, snuggling, lying close by. She frequently sleeps on the bed with our 11 year old or between my husband & myself. She would do best in a home that does have another large dog to keep her company. With all her puppy energy she sometimes is a bit too rough with the smaller dogs.
She is a very special girl!
If you are interested in Maya, please complete an application at http://fourpawsflying.com/pet-rescue/adoption-application/
All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.
Please download our Adoption Application at our website, www.fourpawsrescue.org. Complete and email it back to us at email@example.com. We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - You must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience. To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an approved adoption application on file before we release their contact information. All of our dogs are (spayed/neutered), micro chipped and up to date on their vaccines. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a good fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog, Pure-breeds adoption fee will vary. Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters, as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is placed with the new adoptive family in their home. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact Rebecca at 619-851-1129 or Debbie at 619-283-1364.

Four Paws Coonhound Rescue & Friends
Four Paws Coonhound Rescue (FPCR) was started about 9 yrs ago by Rebecca Stevens. She'd recently found and adopted her beloved Gigi through Beagles and Buddies. When she realized how many coonhounds find themselves without a home, she decided to join a rare network of people who work to rescue and place coonhounds. Coonhounds are still pretty rare in Southern California, but FPCR places 50+ coonhounds per year. We are still dedicated to coonhound rescue, but our mission has evolved to include any dog or cat in need of a home. Four Paws Coonhound and Friends Rescue is a designated 501 (c) (3) (c) animal welfare organization. Our organization provides transportation, food, shelter, and support to our rescued dog and cat friends in need.

All of our adoptable animals are in private foster homes and are seen by appointment only. Our regular working hours are Mon - Sat. 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. We are closed on Sundays. We do hold monthly adoption events at Petsmart in Santee from 11-2 pm on the 4th Saturday of each month, and also at Ark Antiques on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 11-2 pm but the dates do vary depending on the schedule.
We are based in El Cajon, Ca. and work with the following cities or states...San Diego, Los Angeles, Arizona and Colorado.
All of our potential adopters are required to start with filling out an adoption application, we then set up a meeting for that particular pet. We do recommend that they do a trial period to make sure that the animal and the family are perfect for each other. If all goes well then we will finalize the adoption. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. We also pay to register the microchip in the new owner's name. We do charge an adoption fee which will vary depending on breed & age. We also offer a Senior to Senior program for Seniors who would love to have an animal, but are on fixed incomes and cannot otherwise incur the costs of having an animal.
