I don't think I've ever seen a dog as excited about life as Baster Black. This boy shows an unparalleled exuberance just for being alive. His favorite activities include sniffing every inch of floor space, running around like a crazy man, playing for hours on end, and chicken jerky. If you're looking for a dog to make sure you stick to that New Year's Resolution of training for a marathon, this is your boy! He came to us severely underweight and malnourished, so he is slowly gaining weight and fur. Baxter Black needs a foster home in the Charleston, SC area. Or, even better, a furever home to call his own! **This dog is heartworm positive and will be treated by the rescue and will be available for foster to adopt for a local family that is comfortable with the restriction requirements for the duration of treatment. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an application. We do allow out of state adoptions and any transport costs are at the expense of the adopter. If you have further questions about this dog, please email us at ccradopt@gmail.com and someone will be in touch as soon as possible. Please note we are unable to hold dogs for adopters as this ties up valuable foster homes. Please understand that we are an all volunteer group and we have jobs outside of this organization. We do our best to provide quick responses but occasionally they are a little slower. If you do not receive a response in 48 hours, please resend to make sure it's received. show less

Bernadette found herself in a shelter with little hope and very sad eyes. She had many people rooting for her, and we're glad we were able to get her safe. This sweetheart has been dealt a rough hand in life, but her personality and love of attention and being adored is evident in every moment you spend with her. She was making the round bringing joy to a local nursing home her first week in her new foster home and she is loving the comfortable beds and steady meals. As with most women of a certain age, she has a few health issues that CCR is helping her treat and manage. This girl needs a forever home that will never let her down. **This dog is heartworm positive and will be treated by the rescue and will be available for foster to adopt for a local family that is comfortable with the restriction requirements for the duration of treatment.
