I don't think I've ever seen a dog as excited about life as Baster Black. This boy shows an unparalleled exuberance just for being alive. His favorite activities include sniffing every inch of floor space, running around like a crazy man, playing for hours on end, and chicken jerky. If you're looking for a dog to make sure you stick to that New Year's Resolution of training for a marathon, this is your boy! He came to us severely underweight and malnourished, so he is slowly gaining weight and fur. Baxter Black needs a foster home in the Charleston, SC area. Or, even better, a furever home to call his own! **This dog is heartworm positive and will be treated by the rescue and will be available for foster to adopt for a local family that is comfortable with the restriction requirements for the duration of treatment. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an application. We do allow out of state adoptions and any transport costs are at the expense of the adopter. If you have further questions about this dog, please email us at ccradopt@gmail.com and someone will be in touch as soon as possible. Please note we are unable to hold dogs for adopters as this ties up valuable foster homes. Please understand that we are an all volunteer group and we have jobs outside of this organization. We do our best to provide quick responses but occasionally they are a little slower. If you do not receive a response in 48 hours, please resend to make sure it's received. show less

A true diamond in the rough, Gwendolyn came to us terrified of everything and with a large mass we were certain was cancer but we were determined to let her live out the rest of her life in comfort, however long that might be. Well our amazing surgeon removed the mass and, much to our bliss, it was benign! And Gwen is becoming such a loving, well mannered girl that is now ready to find her happy ending. **This dog is heartworm positive and will be treated by the rescue and will be available for foster to adopt for a local family that is comfortable with the restriction requirements for the duration of treatment.
